Gut Cancer Foundation

NZ charity

We designed and built this site for a national charity supporting New Zealanders affected by gut cancers. The challenge was organising a large amount of content, from cancer information and a nurse-led support service to research, clinical trials and fundraising, so people can find help quickly at a stressful time. The site includes bilingual English and te reo Māori navigation and clear donate calls to action throughout.

The website is one part of a much longer partnership. We've worked with Gut Cancer Foundation for close to 10 years, bringing their brand into line and looking after everything that goes with it: brand guidelines, print collateral, documents, annual reports, presentations, signage and showreels for doctors' waiting rooms.

Illuminate Me

Beauty clinic, Northcote

I designed and built this site for a North Shore beauty clinic offering advanced skin and body treatments. It pairs a clean, premium look with practical tools the business uses every day: online booking, an e-commerce shop for skincare products and gift vouchers. The site works as a sales channel as well as a shop window.

Kevin Simms

Communication coach

I moved this site for a presentation and communication coach off an old WordPress build that wasn't mobile friendly and onto Rocketspark, so he can update it himself whenever he needs to. His extensive blog is now easy to add to and manage, which keeps his articles fresh and working for search. I also gave his logo a brand refresh as part of the project. The site leads with a clear "Winning Through Communication" message and testimonials from well-known NZ companies.

The Future You Project

Youth coaching

A full brand built from zero for a coaching organisation supporting girls and young women aged 10 to 18 across Aotearoa. We created the logo, the brand look and feel and extensive brand guidelines, organised photoshoots for the website and the client's own image library, and set up Canva templates so the team can produce their own communications and social media. The website brings it all together with a warm, colourful look, programme pathways by school year, and dedicated areas for parents, schools and the wider community.

Julie Ibbotson · Pocket Rocket Design

Hi!

I'm Julie Ibbotson, a graphic design and production specialist with deep, hands-on experience across brand, print, digital and website design.

Through Pocket Rocket Design, I work with businesses, creative agencies and in-house teams to turn ideas into polished, practical and professional work. My services span brand development, marketing collateral, corporate documents and tender responses (RFPs, RFTs and EOIs), publications, reports, websites, presentations, signage and large-format graphics.

My experience goes well beyond how something looks. With a strong background in print production, prepress and artwork management, I understand how a design needs to work, how it will be produced and how people will actually use it. I'm equally comfortable developing a new visual identity, building a website, preparing complex artwork for production or stepping into an established brand and getting the work done.

I also bridge a gap many design agencies know well: the step between a carefully crafted brand and the Microsoft tools their clients use every day. I take Adobe-designed work and brand guidelines and build them into PowerPoint, Word and Microsoft 365 templates that stay true to the brand, with AI features set up so teams can create their own on-brand documents with confidence.

I'm also part of Creative Edge Marketing, working alongside marketing strategist Claire Ellison. CEM provides clients with a collaborative, wraparound service that brings design, marketing strategy, content and implementation together. We've worked together for more than ten years, supporting long-term clients whose businesses we feel privileged to work with and proud to be part of.

Whether I'm working independently or collaborating through Creative Edge Marketing, I bring creative thinking, technical experience and a genuinely hands-on approach to every project.
